Overview
This test screens a submitted item to detect whether semen is present. It answers a yes/no question about the sample — it does not identify who the sample came from.
This is a private, peace-of-mind test for your own information. It is not forensic, not chain-of-custody, and not admissible in any legal or divorce proceeding. We can't tell you who a sample belongs to from a detection test alone.
What detection means
A result tells you whether semen was detected on the portion of the item that was tested — and nothing more. A positive result means semen was found on what was tested; a negative result means none was found in that sample, which does not guarantee none exists elsewhere on the item.
Detection does not identify whose sample it is, and it does not establish when or how the material got there. On its own it cannot prove that any particular event or relationship occurred. Connecting a sample to a specific person requires a separate DNA comparison against a known reference — and even then, an at-home result is for personal information only.

Accuracy & methodology
The lab uses established screening methods to detect the presence of semen. A positive result indicates semen was detected on the portion of the item tested; a negative result indicates none was detected in that sample. A positive result shows only that the material was present on what was tested — it does not identify whose it is, or establish when or how it got there. Results depend on the condition and handling of the item. Testing is performed by our accredited partner laboratory.

Frequently asked questions
- What can a semen detection test tell me?
- Only whether semen is present on the item tested. It is a yes/no screen and does not identify whose sample it is.
- Is this admissible in divorce proceedings?
- No. It is for personal information only and is not forensic or chain-of-custody. It cannot be used as evidence in any legal proceeding.
- Can you tell me who it belongs to?
- Not from this test. Identifying a person requires a separate DNA comparison with a known reference sample — and even then, an at-home comparison is for personal information only.

Need a legal DNA test?
Need results for a custody case, child support, immigration, or any other legal matter? An at-home test cannot be used for those purposes. You'll need a court-approved, chain-of-custody DNA test performed through an accredited laboratory, where a neutral third party verifies every participant's identity and handles the samples.
