Overview

Add an extra participant to a relationship test in the same order — for example, a second alleged father, an additional child, or the mother. Each additional party gives the lab more information and is often the simplest way to reach a more conclusive result.

This is an add-on, not a standalone test — it must be ordered together with a base DNA test in the same order. It is part of a peace-of-mind, informational test, and is not chain-of-custody or admissible in court.

When you need this

Add this when your relationship test involves more than the standard participants — for example, testing two possible fathers, including the mother alongside a child and alleged father, or adding a second child. Each additional party often gives the lab more information and is a common way to reach a more conclusive result.

This is an add-on, not a standalone test: add it to a base relationship DNA test in the same order. A cart containing only add-ons cannot be checked out.

The laboratory determines the appropriate processing once it receives and assesses your sample. If your sample needs a different tier than the one you purchased, we will contact you before proceeding. Recovery from non-standard samples is never guaranteed and depends on the sample's type and condition.

Your privacy & trust

Your privacy matters to us, and DNA information is among the most sensitive personal data there is.

Frequently asked questions

When should I add a tested party?
Common cases include testing two possible fathers, adding the mother to a paternity test, or including more than one child. Add it to your main test order.

Need a legal DNA test?

Need results for a custody case, child support, immigration, or any other legal matter? An at-home test cannot be used for those purposes. You'll need a court-approved, chain-of-custody DNA test performed through an accredited laboratory, where a neutral third party verifies every participant's identity and handles the samples.
